Exercises for Surfing Workouts: Stronger Surfing Shoulders

Yo Surfing Athletes!

Thanks for dropping in to Surf Training Secrets

What is an Excellent Exercise for Surfing Workouts and Stronger Surfing Shoulders?

Most of us know that our shoulders are extremely important for surfing, paddling power, catching waves, duck diving etc. What many surfers don’t realize is that over doing any rotation through the shoulder – including your surfing workouts -can lead to weakness, pain and… less waves.

As a surfer it is highly likely that you will stress your shoulders – especially over time. Be very careful of what exercises and training programs you follow for your surfing workouts as they can add to the stress and worsen the problem OR help to keep your shoulders strong and mobile – it just depends on what your doing.

Beware: Too much of any form of surfing training or exercises specific for surfing can lead to over use injuries and a shift in the position of the shoulder. Not good :(

Be Sure Your Surfing Workouts Include the Following Shoulder Exercise

Thank You, I so needed this, my shoulders ache all the time now, even when I just paddle out, I think I did too much in the pool and at the gym. I never did anything like this and my trainer never did either. I will put this into my surf training. Thanks H
